Senator George Mitchell and Colin Parry
Sen. George Mitchell, who successfully led the political parties in Northern Ireland to the historic Good Friday Agreement in 1998, delivered the prestigious Roscoe Lecture on April 24 at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall. Prior to the Senator's speech, Colin addressed the audience and read out a Citation to two outstanding young people who had graduated from the Tim Parry Leadership Development Programme. Senator Mitchell and Lord (David) Alton, who hosts the Roscoe Lectures, sponsored by Liverpool's John Moores University, presented Gemma Benns and Lee Beswick with their Citations.
To mark the 15th anniversary of the IRA bombing which killed his son Tim and to mark the 10th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement in Ireland, Colin re-visited the Shankill Road in Belfast and met Alfie McCrory.
Alfie appeared in a BBC Panorama programme made by Colin and Wendy in 1993. He was interviewed by Colin to see how life had changed for him in the 15 years since they last met. The film, which also featured the Peace Centre and its unique work with young people, was broadcast on 'The One Show' on the 15th anniversary of the bombing.

At a prestigious London venue, Sinn Fein President, Gerry Adams and Colin Parry addressed an invited audience on the theme: 'Different Routes to Peace'. The two men met for the first time after Colin issued a personal invitation to Gerry Adams to share the platform with him.
